Fieldfarehytta, a place for memory

Fieldfarehytta is a copy of a cabin built by the members of Kompani Linge Joachim Rønneberg, Birger Strømsheim and Olav Aarsæther in the Spring of 1944. They had been trained in the UK and were involved in several missions in UK and Norway including the heavy water sabotage. In 1944, they were sent in Tafjordfjella and spent the last year of the war in this retreat with the missions of disrupting the communications in the  Romsdal and Lesja areas.

The cabin was rebuilt in summer 1990 by Joachim Rønneberg. It is now part of the DNT, it has four beds and is hidden beneath a cliff ten minutes from Veltdalshytta.
